  1. Branka Ivić, Head of Solid Dosage Forms Laboratory, R&D Institute, defended a PhD thesis on 12. June 2010, at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade. The PhD thesis titled "Formulation of Multi-particle Systems with Prolonged Release of Drug Substance Made by Direct Pelletization" was done at the R&D Institute of Galenika a.d. and in the Laboratory for Industrial Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Basle under Prof. Svetane Ibric, PhD, of the Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology of the Faculty of Pharmacy in Belgrade as mentor. Branka Ivic, PhD, was born in Belgrade in 1976, has been employed at Galenika since 2003, and she is the author of 4 technologies, out of which two products of Galenika a.d. are in the market currently. She is the author of 12 scientific papers published in abstract form at international and national magazines, 3 oral presentations at international and national meetings, 3 papers published in full form in international magazines, one of which in distinguished international magazine, and 1 patent application. Branka Ivic, PhD, was awarded with Nikola Tesla gold medal in 2006, at Tesla Fest international patent exhibition in Novi Sad, for development of tablets with modified release of diclofenac sodium. She was also awarded with Nikola Tesla gold medal in 2009 in the area of new technologies, awarded by the Inventors Association of Belgrade, for formulation of preparation with dry herbal extracts - Floralend® capsules with olive leaf extract and Floralend® capsules with vine leaf extract.
  2. Dragana Dekanski, MD, Head of Biomedical Testing Department, R&D Institute, defended a PhD thesis on 10. June 2010, at the School of Medicine in Belgrade. The PhD thesis titled "Effects of Olive Leaf Extract (Olea europaea L.) in Induced Stress Ulcuses" was done under Prof. Dusan Mitrovic, MD, of the Institute for Medical Physiology at the School of Medicine in Belgrade, as mentor. Dr Dekanski has been employed at Galenika since 1993, she is a member of Pharmaceutical Medicine section within the Doctors Association of Serbia, Physiologists Association of Serbia and Pharmacological Association of Serbia, being a member of Presidency as of 2007 in the former, as well as the Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Investigators. Dr Dekarski is part of the team of R&D Institute of Galenika a.d. that was awarded with gold medal for technological innovation of preparations with dry herbal extracts - Floralend®.
